I was warned but....

While the description of the book certainly came with disclaimers and qualifiers as to the reproduction quality, I didn't realize just how bad it would be with much of each page used for wide borders and the text being rather small font on a sepia or recycled paper.
Several pages were blurred and indistinct so as to be almost unreadable with underlying watermark patterns. I don't believe a lot of effort was put into producing anything more than what a simple copier would do and putting a hard cover on it. In the future, I will be careful to avoid this publisher.

Still relevent for today in many ways

Hannah Whitall Smith lived in the 1800's and yet her faith and her writings are still relevant today. She was a Quaker woman and wrote several books and I haven't found one that I didn't like. Sometimes she'll say something that just sticks with you forever, and I learn something nearly every time I read anything she wrote. It's true that times have changed since she was alive, but today's Christian can learn from her just the same.

Be patient as she explains her quaker background because it sets the stage for how she discovered what was missing in her relationsip with Christ and the peace it brings.
