I'm a huge fan of Jason Morgan's work. This is a pretty nice little book, showing six different animal paintings and templates (tiger, snow-leopard cub, black panther, squirrel, baby elephant, and lion. Each page shows what colors you will need (in a little circle) to do the paintings. For example black, burnt umber, light grey, etc.
But there are two issues I have with this book. One: two of the paintings are quite large, so the page binding goes right through a critical part of the picture. The very center of the black panther's face/nose is right in the middle where the binding is, so you really can't see much of it clearly. The other painting, the tiger, isn't as much of an issue because you can see that one on the cover of the book.
My other issue is it doesn't explain when/how the colors are used. It just shows you and expects you to figure it out. In some cases it's pretty obvious, but in others, where several colors are layered, it isn't so obvious. So I wish there was some kind of notes or indication of which colors are used for the fir (base, highlights, etc), eyes, etc. Like I said, not a huge deal, but it could've easily been fit into this small book and made things a bit more clear.
Otherwise, this is a great book and I love the template idea. I give it 3 1/2 stars.

Love tracing

I'm a big fan of these types of books.
The main reason why I buy these types of tracing books is because I don't always have time to drawl up my own picture.
When I do have a day off and can spend 4-6 hours on the project then yes I will do my own Drawlings , but if I only have 1-2 hours to paint then these are the way to go. You don't have to worry about what your going to drawl , layout, perspective etc. this is a great way to cut corners when you don't have a lot of time. Easy to use, clear pages great designs. Fast shipping, nothing's damaged folded etc.

Great animals to learn

Great tracings and nice big color pictures to work from. There are no sstep by step instructions so don't complain about it. They do give you a line of color dots to compare to and for what it is Trace & Color it's great!
